Hats. Cowls. Mittens. Gloves. Scarves, shawlettes, and of course, socks. How we love those small projects, in small and not-so-small yarns. The Small Knits Symposium is an all-weekend retreat focused entirely on those beloved small knitted wearables.
The Small Knits Symposium is scheduled for April 24-27 at the very comfortable Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomington, Indiana, right off the town square of pedestrian-friendly downtown Bloomington, home of many fabulous restaurants and specialty shops (with one yarn shop practically on the square, and another nearby with lots of free parking!). Expect to arrive Thursday evening and depart after mid-morning brunch on Sunday.
Our knitting instigator and hostess is Lana Holden, creator of the Skew sock and more. Expected to join us are two nationally-known and adored teachers, Lorilee Beltman and Sivia Harding; and special guest speaker Cat Bordhi. Lorilee and Sivia’s class descriptions are now available.
If you’re on Ravelry, there’s an SKS group. The official event twitter account is @knitsymposium. You can also follow Lana, who tweets as @named4wool, but you’ll get math jokes and gratuitous kitten pictures too unless you sort on the hashtag #sks2014.
Registration is now closed, but consider signing up for our mailing list to hear the report after the event and find out whether there will be a second Small Knits Symposium!
Small Knits Symposium is a production of Skew Loose, LLC.
